Bourne Betrayal - Lustbader

Already devastated by loss, Bourne is shattered by a report that his last friend in the world, Martin Lindros has gone missing. A CIA deputy director, Lindros was in Ethiopia tracking suspicious shipments of yellowcake uranium and atomic bomb weaponry. His last lifeline to humanity, Bourne will not let Lindros go. Despite his hatred for CI, Bourne sets out to rescue his friend and finish the job: dismantling a terrorist network determined to build nuclear armaments by cutting off their source of money. But Bourne doesn't realize that these men, Islamic supremacists, are leaders of an incredibly dangerous, technologically savvy group with ties from Africa, across the Middle East, and into Eastern Europe and Russia . They have predicted Bourne's every move, and are counting on his unwitting help in their plans to destroy America.

A Thousand Splendid Suns - Hosseini

It's difficult to imagine a harder first act to follow than The Kite Runner: a debut novel by an unknown writer about a country many readers knew little about that has gone on to have over four million copies in print worldwide. But when preview copies of Khaled Hosseini's second novel, A Thousand Splendid Suns, started circulating at Amazon.com, readers reacted with a unanimous enthusiasm that few of us could remember seeing before. As special as The Kite Runner was, those readers said, A Thousand Splendid Suns is more so, bringing Hosseini's compassionate storytelling and his sense of personal and national tragedy to a tale of two women that is weighted equally with despair and grave hope. ______________________________________________________________________

No Retreat, No Surrender: One American's Fight - DeLay

Book Description: A candid memoir of one of the most effective, controversial figures in modern politics.

About the Author: Tom DeLay served as majority leader of the U.S. House of Representatives from 2003 to 2006. He was first elected to the House from Texas in 1984, appointed deputy minority whip in 1988, and elected House majority whip in 1995. _____________________________________________________________________

Natural Born Charmer- Phillips

Veteran narrator Anna Fields (whose real name was Kate Fleming) died recently, and this audiobook—one of her final performances—shows just what a loss her passing is to the industry. This quirky romance full of eccentric, colorful characters is a perfect showcase for her talent. She creates distinctive, believable voices that bring the characters to life: the slow, deep drawl of football star Dean Robillard and the feisty, sarcastic tone of Blue Bailey, the down-on-her-luck wanderer he picks up on the road. There's also the timid, innocent, anxious-to-please quaver of 11-year-old Riley, whose irresponsible rock star dad also fathered Dean, and the crotchety, elderly, Brooklyn-tinged voice of Nina, the mean-spirited old woman who owns the small town they all end up in. Field's wonderful performance elevates the material and makes this romance even more entertaining on audio than it is in print.

Poetry Contest Winners are announced!

The yearly poetry contest ran again in April and the winners have been announced:

Children's Winner: Bryce Johnson
"The Magical Library"
I walked into a Library,
Decided to have a look.
Then my eyes stumbled on a
mysterious magic looking book.
My curiousity got the best of me
So I had to pick it up and have a see.
It opened a portal within my mind.
It let me see what no one else could see.

Adult Winner: Ronnie Cornett
In a Book
In a Book you can find,
your imagination will take off and fly.
You can imagine yourself almost anywhere,
with anything or anyone.
Pick up a Book and you'll find,
you will be able to expand your mind.
