OH NO MY DOG ATE MY BALL!
                                     By Timmy Lang
                                                  Age: 10

AH YEAH MY DOG ATE MY BASEBALL AND NOW I WILL TELL THE STORY.
OK, ONE DAY I WAS WATCHING A BLUE CLAWS GAME WHEN THE PLAYER HIT THE BALL AND  IT WAS A HOME RUN. THE BALL LANDED RIGHT INTO MY SEAT. I WAS SO HAPPY, I COULDN’T BELIEVE IT. I WENT HOME AND TOLD MY MOM AND MY DAD, THEY COULDN’T BELIEVE IT EITHER.
BUT MY DOG LOVED BALLS SO MUCH AND HE ALWAYS TRIED TO GET IT. ONE DAY, ABOUT A MONTH LATER, I FORGOT TO HIDE THE BALL WHILE I WAS PLAYING WITH MY DOG.  WE WERE KIND OF WRESTLING. WHEN THE WRESTLING MATCH WAS OVER, I GUARANTEE YOU THAT MY DOG WAS TIRED AND MAD AT ME. I WENT TO BED AND WHEN I WOKE UP THE NEXT MORNING, I HEARD SOMETHING DOWNSTAIRS.  I WENT DOWN AND SAW MY DOG WAS EATING MY BALL. AT THAT MOMENT I WAS REALLY MAD AT MY DOG AND I REMEMBERED THAT I FORGOT TO HIDE MY BALL. SO I TOLD MY MOM AND SHE TOLD MY UNCLE ED. THE NEXT WEEK I GOT MAIL FROM MY UNCLE ED SAYING THAT HE HEARD MY DOG ATE MY BALL. THEN I LOOKED INTO THE BOX AND I SAW A BALL, WELL, A BASEBALL THAT LOOKED LIKE THE SAME ONE I CAUGHT.

Why Wolf Howls at the Moon

                                                                                 By Shane Kirchner
                                                                               Age: 10

One day in the mountains, Brother Wolf woke up and got ready for the day . He went outside from his cave in the mountains and found the meanest Fox in all of the land.

“I’m better than you.” said Fox.

“Prove it.” said Brother Wolf.

With that they agreed to have a competition to see who was better.

The first round was hunting. They both set off to the woods. Brother Wolf was worried. He had never been out to this part of the forest. Fox was settled on a bush of berries like he lived there. In a flash, Fox heard a noise. He walked slowly, closer and closer, and then he saw a deer. He caught it and brought it back to the cave. When he got there, he was surprised to see Brother wolf, standing there with a rabbit in his mouth.

“OK. Round one goes to you Brother Wolf. Round two will be swimming.” said Fox

So the two set off to a lake nearby. Brother Wolf and Fox jumped in the water and started to paddle. At first, Wolf was as ahead, but then he started drowning. Fox ended up winning the round.

“This is the last round. Whoever wins this round, wins it all.” said Brother Wolf.

“The last round will be jumping,” said Fox.

The two set off to the biggest cliff. It was Brother Wolf’s turn first. Brother Wolf jumped up really high. But, when it was Fox’s turn, he jumped up so high, that he reached the tip top of the moon and he was stuck there forever.

From that day on, Brother Wolf howled at the moon to send Fox messages to get him to come down and that is why wolves howl at the moon.

             Snuffle the Hamster
                                                                                        By Jasmine King
                                                                                                            Age: 10

As Brandon walked down the isle of Pet Smart, he looked at the hamsters anxiously.
He saw one that he really liked.  The store named him Snuffle. Snuffle was a boy and he was 2 years old with a white and black line down his back. Brandon pets his soft head and told his dad “I really like this one Dad. Let’s get him” Brandon’s father told the lady. She got a cage and put Snuffle in it.
When they got home Cindy, Bradon’s sister, ran out of her room and asked if she could hold him.  Brandon told Cindy to sit on the couch to hold him. She petted him in delight. “I love him!”
The next day Brandon got up and realized under his carpet of his room there was a big hole. He told his mom and she said she would fix it later today. Brandon also asked Cindy to feed Snuffle while he was in school.
Just before lunch, Cindy went to Brandon's room and put food in the bowl for Snuffle. She took Snuffle out and played with him. When Mom called her down stair for lunch, Cindy quickly put Snuffle back in the cage but forgot to shut the door.
After lunch Mom went upstairs to fill in the hole in Brandon's floor.
When Brandon got home, he ran to his room and found Snuffle gone. He checked the floor and saw his mom already filled the hole. Brandon ran to Cindy's room "You didn’t close the cage. I can’t trust you!" He yelled.
Cindy started to cry. Mom ran upstairs and asked Brandon what the fuss was about.  "Cindy forgot to close the cage. Snuffle probably jumped in the hole before you filled it." Brandon cried
Mom had to break down his closet and open the floors. Brandon saw a whitish fluffy thing. He went down to pick it up. It was Snuffle, but he looked like he was dead and was barely breathing.
They all took Snuffle to Brickstone Vet. The lady there was very nice. Her name was Miss Sally. She told them to stay in the waiting area and  she took Snuffle to the back room. Half an hour later she came back and said, "He is fine." She gave Mom some medicine for Snuffle.
About a month later it seemed as if nothing ever happened. Snuffle was a very healthy hamster.
